A little about me.

Starting life in rural New Zealand cemented my love of the outdoors and exploration, but it was international travel that started me down the road to photography.

I purchased my first camera at age 24 prior to leaving for London, three years later I returned with the ambition of making it my profession.

After graduating from Unitec in Auckland with a Diploma in Contemporary Photography, my first full time photography role was with Fairfax Media at the Taupo Times. I then moved to the Marlborough Express in Blenheim for three years.

By 2007 it became apparent that the long-term prospects for press photography worldwide were limited and decreasing. With that in mind I relocated to Perth Western Australia and returned to my first career in IT.

It was relegating photography back to a passion from a profession that started me down the road of Street Photography.

As a genre closely related to documentary and photojournalism I abide by their standards of realism, intervention, post processing and manipulation.

It’s about time we started to take photography seriously and treat it as a hobby.
